One of our ESS physician had to unexpectedly go on an early maternity leave and so we are in great need of support for remainder of 2024, as either a long term locum or for short stays, and in particular during the dates listed to the right.
Peace River Community health centre is a busy rural obstetrical and ESS hub on the beautiful Peace River valley of northern Alberta. We have the capacity for full ESS services and do approximately 400 deliveries/year. ESS skills including endoscopy would be welcome but OSS skills are essential to help keep our obstetrical program going. There is options for ER, hospitalist, and full scope family medicine locum work to be done at the same time for those interested (but not essential). AMA is now helping with travel and accommodation expenses for OSS/ESS locums.

Golden, BC
Dates: until Aug 2024
Skills: ESS or OSS
Locum(s) would replace current ESS who left Dec 2023.
May be looking to hire an OSS or ESS full time in Jan 2025.
Golden is in the East Kootenays and serves approximately 8500 residents, with 14 physicians and one medical clinic. Currently one full time OSS and a general surgeon. OR is busy and robust for a small community and runs 4 days per week.
As an ESS you would integrate into general surgeon’s practice where a typical week consists of 2 procedure days, weighted more heavily on endoscopies, and one to two surgical clinics. Surgical call is primarily for C-section coverage but could also include surgical consultations within scope.
As an OSS you would be integrated within our obstetrics call group and prenatal clinic at the Golden Medical Clinic.
Opportunities for ESS/OSS to work emergency medicine, family practice, orthopedic surgical assists would be available.
